When attached to a current Educator License, this one-year Utah State Board of Education (USBE) approved 18-credit hour endorsement (6 courses) verifies that the individual has the skills and knowledge necessary to provide quality instruction to multilingual students learning English based on the TESOL Standards used for Pre-K-12 Teacher Preparation courses.

If working on your teaching license and interested in the ESL endorsement, meet with the ESL Endorsement Contact to review your transcript and determine if any existing coursework may count toward fulfilling any of the ESL standards. Note that you will not be able to obtain approval for your ESL endorsement from the Utah State Board of Education until you complete your teaching license.
