Specialization Overview
A 30-credit-hour degree program that emphasizes interdisciplinary frameworks for understanding contemporary questions of educational policy and practice in elementary, secondary, and postsecondary settings. Involves the study of education as a social and cultural institution through the lenses of disciplines such as history, philosophy, and sociology. Social Foundations inquiry helps sharpen students’ capacities to understand, analyze, and explain educational issues, policies, and practices to improve education.
